Destination of the week
Bora Bora is an atoll in the Society Islands, part of French Polynesia, located northwest of Tahiti, about 260 km northwest of Papeete. It covers an area of 29.3 square kilometers and consists of an extinct volcano surrounded by a lagoon separated from the sea by a reef. The highest point is Mount Otemanu to 727 meters. In 2007 the population was 8880 inhabitants.
The island is surrounded by motus, which are small elongated islands that tend to have a certain width and vegetation. One of the most beautiful and photographed Polynesia Motu Tapu is the motus, especially those taken before a hurricane part of the sand languages that had at their ends.
